Provide information, education and outreach to the public, and advocate on behalf of those who are most in need and vulnerable.

Community Action Agency Advisory Board: Charlotte County Human Services department is designated the lead agency for utilization of the Community Services Block Grant funds. The Community Action Agency Advisory Board oversees the utilization of these funds and advocates for programs that serve low-to-moderate income families. The Board developed a Task Force in May 2010 which established the needs and priorities of the community and developed the comprehensive, strategic Community Action Plan to be implemented over five years, 2011-2015. Established priorities are to improve coordination of services, increase access to health care and help residents achieve self-sufficiency. The latter is thought to have the greatest impact with much of the plan devoted to support of this goal.
Children's Services Council: The Children's Services Council advises the Board of County Commissioners on all measures necessary to promote the general welfare of children in the county including but not limited to providing and maintaining preventive, developmental treatment and rehabilitative services for children as the council determines necessary to promote the general welfare of the county.
