At the March 23, 2021 meeting of the Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners, the board adopted an updated Impact Fees Schedule based upon the Impact Fees Study accepted by the board on February 9, 2021. The implementation rate of 100% of the recommended maximum amount was approved by the board.
The Board of County Commissioners, within the motion for adoption, has required that this come back before them for a final decision on the implementation rate at their May 11, 2021 Regular Meeting. They will be lowering the adoption rate based on the direction of the legislature with respect to HB 337.
The updated Impact Fees Schedule becomes effective on Saturday, July 1, 2021 and will apply to permit applications made on or after this effective date.
The updated Impact Fees Schedule is published online at www.CharlotteCountyFL.gov. From the “Departments” tab, click “Community Development.” Next, click the “Planning & Zoning tab” and then click the Impact Fees tab in the right column.
