Employee Recognition
Human Resources > Employee Recognition
Charlotte County values the hard work and dedication of every employee and has developed a variety of employee recognition programs: Employee of the Month, Employee of the Year, Kudos Corner, Commissioner's Award, "Caught in the Act", Service Awards, and planned events.  Many of these awards are based on internal nominations; however, citizens can submit nominations for the Employee of the Month.

Purpose
The purpose of the Charlotte County Employee Recognition Programs is to provide a process for nominating and selecting employees who exemplify our core values and have made significant contributions to the mission of Charlotte County. Awards include Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year. These awards are individual awards and only individual employees can be nominated.

Eligibility

Eligible employees for Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year are part-time or full-time employees who have been employed with Charlotte County BCC for at least one year. Employees are eligible to receive annual awards no more than one (1) time in a two-year period.

Elected County Officials, County Administrator, Deputy County Administrator, County Attorney, Deputy/Assistant County Attorneys, Department Directors, Volunteers, Interns, Temporary Employees, Contract Employees, and Employees provided through an employment agency shall not be eligible.

Nominations may be submitted by employees and citizens, except the County Administrator, Deputy County Administrator, County Attorney, Deputy/Assistant County Attorneys and Commissioners. Self-nominations are not permitted.

Employee of the Year

Nominations: Recipients of Employee of the Month Awards are eligible for this award. No other submissions will be accepted.

Selection: Human Resources will prepare a ballot containing the names and summary of each Monthly Award winner for that calendar year and post on the intranet. Votes may be cast by any part-time or full-time Charlotte County BCC employee. Supervisors and Managers will ensure all employees have an opportunity to vote. Ballots will be posted for one full week: Wednesday through Tuesday. Voting will close at 11:59 p.m. Human Resources will tabulate the results. In the event of a tie, the Human Resources Director, County Administrator, Deputy County Administrator, and Assistant County Administrator will make the final decision.
