Notice of Road Closure and Water Interruption on Midway Boulevard

Port Charlotte, Fla. (Aug. 24, 2017) – The portion of Midway Boulevard on the west side of U.S. 41 will be closed to Ellicot Circle from Thursday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. until Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 7 a.m. A water service interruption is also scheduled for the immediate area from Aug. 31 at 10 p.m. through Sept. 1 at 7 a.m.

This closure is necessary for the Charlotte County Utilities Department and its contractors to make essential water and sewer improvements.

Detour signs will be in place to aid in travel around this area. Travelers can utilize Cochran Boulevard to the north and West Tarpon Boulevard Northwest to the south, as well as Lake View Boulevard – which is west of the construction work area.

Travelers may experience temporary delays within the project limits and should allow extra time when planning to travel through this area. The Utilities Department reminds motorists to remain alert at all times, and to exercise caution when traveling in the vicinity of construction zones.

Residents in the immediate area will be notified personally with a door hanger if their water service is expected to be interrupted. For more information call Tony Smith regarding the water service interruption or Dave Watson regarding the road closure at 941-764-4300. Visit the Utilities section of www.CharlotteCountyFL.gov and the Emergency Utility Notices page for more information.
