Burnt Store Area Sanitary Sewer Maintenance to Continue
CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (June 16, 2017) – Utilities Department crews are scheduled to continue cleaning the sanitary sewer system in the Burnt Store area for the next two months, weather permitting. This routine maintenance will be done on various roads starting on Vincent Avenue and moving north through the Burnt Store area and Burnt Store Lakes.
A truck utilizing high-pressure water will be employed to clean the sewer main lines. Residents may experience gurgling or bubbling water in toilet bowls. In rare cases, water may splash out of the bowl. This is caused by air flow changes in the sanitary sewer during cleaning operations. To minimize splashing, residents in the area are asked to keep their toilet lids closed.
Residents will be notified in advance with a door hanger prior to the start of maintenance work on their street. Motorists are advised to use caution when driving in the area when manhole work is being performed. For information, visit CharlotteCountyFL.gov and click “Utilities” in the Popular Links.
