CERT Basic Training Course Offered in August
CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (July 30, 2019) – Charlotte County Emergency Management is offering the CERT (Citizen's Emergency Response Team) basic training course. This course is designed for anyone who is interested in gaining skills and knowledge to help make their communities prepared and resilient when an incident occurs.
CERT is a volunteer program that educates people about disaster preparedness. Topics include hazards that can impact a community, basic disaster response skills, fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. After completing training requirements, CERT members will have the skills and knowledge to assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an emergency event.
This is a three-day course held on Saturdays beginning Aug. 10 and is free of charge. All classes will be held at the Rotonda Community Association, 646 Rotonda Circle, Rotonda West, FL 33947.
