Charlotte County Purchasing Division Earns National Award
CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (July 27, 2017) – The Charlotte County Purchasing Division has been awarded the prestigious 22nd Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement for 2017 from the National Procurement Institute. The division has now earned the distinction 13 times.
The AEP Award is earned by public and non-profit organizations that obtain a high application score based on standardized criteria. The AEP is awarded annually to recognize innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity and leadership in the procurement function.
The AEP program encourages the development of excellence as well as continued organizational improvement to earn the award annually.
For 2017, there were 204 successful applicants, including 48 counties, 68 cities, 25 higher education agencies, 26 school districts, 25 special districts, and 12 state agencies.
“We’re fortunate to have such a talented and dedicated group of people working on behalf of our residents in our Purchasing Division,” said Charlotte County Administrator Ray Sandrock. “Kim Corbett and her team are always striving to improve the division’s performance, whether it be adapting to new technology or adopting best practices from high-performing organizations.
