Charlotte County Request for Volunteers


CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Feb. 8, 2017) – The Board of County Commissioners is seeking volunteers for the following appointments:

Agriculture & Natural Resources Advisory Committee is seeking four volunteers who must be Charlotte County residents to represent the following areas: one member for Water Management, one member for Commodity Production, one member for Commodity Production - Citrus and one member for Commodity Production - Cattle, Row Crop. Beaches and Shores Advisory Committee is seeking one volunteer who must be a permanent resident of Charlotte County and reside within District 5. Term is 4 years. To obtain an application, please contact Diane Whidden at 941-743-1300 or via email at Diane.Whidden@CharlotteCountyFL.gov.

Board of Zoning Appeals is seeking one volunteer must be a resident of Charlotte County and reside within District 5. Term is 4 years. To obtain an application, please contact Diane Whidden at 941-743-1300 or via email at Diane.Whidden@CharlotteCountyFL.gov.

Environmentally Sensitive Lands Oversight Committee is seeking one Business/Land Development Representative volunteer who must be a Charlotte County resident. Term will expire three years from the date of appointment. To obtain an application, please contact Lisa Eby at 941-743-1300 or email Lisa.Eby@CharlotteCountyFL.gov.

MPO Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) is seeking one volunteer who must be a Charlotte County resident to serve as a Bicycle Club Representative. The purpose of the BPAC is to provide recommendations on transportation plans and projects that the MPO Board will consider for adoption or approval. Deadline for submitting application is Monday, Feb. 20, 2017. Please go online at www.ccmpo.com or contact the MPO for an application. The MPO Board will elect the position at its Monday, March 6, 2017 meeting.

Murdock Village Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Committee has two term expirations on the committee. One licensed general contractor and one member at large. Applicants must be residents of Charlotte County and familiar with the Murdock Village CRAAC. Committee meets quarterly at 5 p.m. in the SunTrust building in Murdock. Any qualified interested applicant must obtain an application by calling 941-743-1309 or email: Joann.Dillon@CharlotteCountyFL.gov.
 
The following MSBU/TU Advisory Boards are seeking volunteers who must be residents of Charlotte County and reside within the Unit. Submit applications to Public Works Department, 7000 Florida Street, Punta Gorda, FL 33950; call 941-575-3600 or email MSBU-TU@CharlotteCountyFL.gov.

  • Alligator Creek Waterway Unit is seeking one member to fill a vacant unexpired term through Oct. 31, 2019.
  • Boca Grande Street & Drainage Unit is seeking three members to fill vacant unexpired terms. The length of each term will be drawn at the first regular MSBU Advisory Board meeting to be scheduled at such time a quorum is reached.
  • Burnt Store Village Street & Drainage Unit is seeking one member to fill a vacant unexpired term through Oct. 31, 2019.
  • Charlotte Ranchettes Unit is seeking one member to fill a vacant unexpired term. The length of the term will be drawn at the next MSBU Advisory Board meeting.
  • Englewood East Street & Drainage Unit is seeking one member to fill a vacant unexpired term. The length of the term will be drawn at the next regular MSBU Advisory Board meeting.
  • Gardens of Gulf Cove Street & Drainage Unit is seeking two members to fill vacant unexpired terms. The length of each term will be drawn at the next regular MSBU Advisory Board meeting.
  • Grove City Street & Drainage Unit is seeking two members to fill vacant unexpired terms. The length of each term will be drawn at the next regular MSBU Advisory Board meeting.
  • Gulf Cove Waterway Benefit Unit is seeking one member to fill a vacant unexpired term through Oct. 31, 2018.
  • Harbour Heights Waterway Benefit Unit is seeking one member to fill a vacant unexpired term through Oct. 31, 2018.
  • Mid Charlotte Stormwater Utility Unit is seeking three members to fill vacant unexpired terms. The length of each term will be drawn at the first regular MSBU Advisory Board meeting to be scheduled at such time a quorum is reached.
  • Northwest Port Charlotte Waterway Unit is seeking one member to fill a vacant unexpired term. The length of the term will be drawn at the next regular MSBU Advisory Board meeting.
  • Rotonda Heights Street & Drainage Unit is seeking one member to fill a vacant unexpired term. The length of the term will be drawn at the next regular MSBU Advisory Board meeting.
