County Declares Rabies Alert Area
CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Aug. 11, 2017) – On Aug. 8, 2017, Charlotte County Animal Control was notified that two people had been exposed to a bat that tested positive for the rabies virus in Charlotte County.
In response, Charlotte County Animal Control has declared a rabies alert for the following areas:
Frederick Ave, Port Charlotte 33952
Peachland Blvd., Broadview St., Adela Ave., Beacon Dr., Port Charlotte 33952
Residents in this area should:
Report any sick or injured wildlife
Report any stray domestic animals
Report any animals acting strangely
Refrain contact with any unknown animal.
