Food For Florida Event Oct. 22-23 May Cause S.R. 776 Delays


CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Oct. 20, 2017) – The Florida Department of Children and Families’ Food For Florida disaster assistance event is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 22 and Monday, Oct. 23 at Charlotte Sports Park, 2300 El Jobean Road in Port Charlotte. Travelers may experience intermittent, slow-moving traffic and/or temporary delays and should allow extra time when planning to travel through this area of State Road 776.

Residents attending the event may enter the sports park from the eastbound and westbound lanes of S.R. 776, but exit only via the eastbound lane. Gates will open at 6:30 a.m. both days. Parking along S.R. 776 is prohibited before the gates open. Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office personnel will be directing traffic on both days. Please follow all law enforcement directions and exercise caution while driving on S.R. 776 during this period.
