Gas Leak in Port Charlotte

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (June 28, 2018) – Charlotte County Fire/EMS responded to a report of a gas leak at 11:05 a.m. Thursday at the Raleigh House apartments at 2296 Aaron St. in Port Charlotte. Fire/EMS personnel and technicians for TECO Energy repaired the leak at 12:44 p.m.

Residents of Raleigh House and the eastern half of Cambridge House were evacuated as a precaution. Brinson Avenue was closed to traffic during the incident.

Personnel from Sarasota County Fire Department provided mutual aid and the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office provided traffic control. For information contact Brian Gleason at 941-7431462 or Brian.Gleason@CharlotteCountyFL.gov.
