Gopher Tortoise Bucket Trapping at Cape Haze Pioneer Trail

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (April 20, 2017) – Community Services Parks and Natural Resources will be in the area of Cape Haze Pioneer Trail, located at 1688 Gasparilla Road in Rotonda, to conduct bucket trapping as part of an FWC approved gopher tortoise relocation. A total of four burrows are slated for relocation due to their proximity to the existing asphalt trail. This project will begin April 24 and could take up to one month to complete. The Cape Haze Trail will be available for use without interruption.
