Hands Across the Harbor offers

Last Chance! Early Bird Discount through Oct. 1

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Sept. 28, 2017) – The Charlotte Harbor and Punta Gorda Community Redevelopment Agencies (CRAs), and title sponsor Waste Management invite residents to participate in the 10th Annual Hands Across the Harbor Half Marathon Bridge Run, Ride, and Roll. The event will be on January 27, 2018 and features a half marathon, 5k competitive run, 13.1 mile competitive IDSA sanctions longboard race as well as 5k fun walk, 13.1, 20 and 30 mile bike rides.

Early bird registration is now open online at www.HandsAcrosstheHarbor.org. Early bird rates are $50 for the half marathon run and longboard race, as well as $25 for all other events through October 1, 2017. Pre-registered participants will receive a high-performance t-shirt, free pancake breakfast, awards and a chance to win the Fabulous Getaway Prize.

Hands Across the Harbor has made a pledge of sustainability, registering as an Athletes for a Fit Planet event. The event offers onsite recycling with more environmentally friendly materials used for breakfast and give-a-ways. Registrants are encouraged to support the environment by registering online (reducing paper consumption), carpooling to the event, and utilizing re-usable water bottles during the event.

Proceeds from the 2018 Hands Across the Harbor will support the environmental education events at the Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center. Register online at www.HandsAcrosstheHarbor.org.
