**UPDATE**

CHARLOTTE COUNTY TRAFFIC ADVISORY

Notice of Detour & Road Closure - Midway Boulevard at Port Charlotte Middle School

Mon., June 5 - Mon., June 19, 2017

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (May 31, 2017) – Please be advised that a short section of Midway Boulevard traffic will be detoured effective Monday, June 5 through Monday, June 19. Midway Boulevard, in the vicinity of the Port Charlotte Middle School between Alton Road and Orlando Boulevard, will be closed for the installation of a sewer main in front of the school.

The Charlotte County Parks and Recreation tennis courts are also closed in this area, because they are located inside the road closure.

This detour takes advantage of the school closure for the summer. Midway traffic in this area will be routed with a short detour using Alton Rd., Foote Avenue and Orlando Blvd. Travelers are encouraged to choose an alternate route when possible. Mail delivery, emergency services, and access to local residences will be maintained during construction.

This work is in conjunction with the Midway Phase II Widening Project.

Upon completion, Midway Boulevard will be a four lane roadway with center turn lanes, new sidewalks and a closed drainage system. Construction is projected to be complete in the fall of 2018.

More information about this project is available at www.MidwayUpdate.com.

On behalf of road construction crews, please drive safely.
