Wastewater Release Report
CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (May 2, 2017) – A force main line break yesterday morning resulted in a leak of 2,500 gallons of raw wastewater at 1515 Forrest Nelson Blvd. near the entrance to an apartment complex.
Utilities staff quickly responded and recovered approximately 1,000 gallons of wastewater with a tanker truck. The remaining wastewater was absorbed in a dry retention area, and the affected areas were sanitized with hydrated lime. No direct waterways were impacted.
The line was repaired yesterday and is now functioning properly. In keeping with State law, staff reported it to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the State Watch Office.
