Wastewater Release Report
CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (June 12, 2017) – A power outage on Saturday resulted in an overflow of approximately 700 gallons of partially treated wastewater at a lift station in Rotonda Lakes near David and Ingram Boulevards.
Utilities staff quickly responded to stop the overflow and contain the wastewater onsite, after which the affected area was sanitized with hydrated lime. No direct waterways were impacted.
A bypass generator was utilized until the power was restored by Florida Power & Light on Saturday afternoon. In keeping with State law, staff reported it to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
