Wastewater Release Report
CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Sept. 6, 2017) – A force main line break yesterday morning resulted in a leak of raw wastewater at 1515 Forrest Nelson Blvd. Staff quickly repaired the line and recovered 14,000 gallons of the estimated 15,000 gallons released. The remaining wastewater was absorbed into the ground, and the affected areas were sanitized with hydrated lime. No direct waterways were impacted.
In keeping with state law, staff reported these incidents to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the State Watch Office. Utilities staff continues to respond and prepare for additional rain and weather events.
