CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (June 10, 2025) — Mental Health America awarded Charlotte County a 2025 Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health. The Bell Seal is the nation’s preeminent certification, recognizing employers committed to creating mentally healthy workplaces. The county was awarded the platinum-level seal, the highest the organization awards.
MHA is the nation’s leading community-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting mental health, well-being, and illness prevention for all. MHA has spent decades researching mental health in the workplace and introduced the Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health in 2019 to recognize organizations that value and implement policies and practices that support employee mental health and well-being.
The Bell Seal recognizes employer advances in workplace mental health by awarding Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum recognition. Only two in five employers meet the standards for Bell Seal certification. Charlotte County underwent a rigorous evaluation of its policies and practices in four areas: workplace culture, benefits, compliance, and wellness programs.
Gaining status as a Bell Seal recipient demonstrates Charlotte County’s ongoing commitment to employee mental health and well-being.
“Charlotte County is proud to be awarded the Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health and attributes this accomplishment to the dedication and passion of its workplace mental health champions,” said Charlotte County Administrator Hector Flores. “Charlotte County is committed to providing the best for its employees and looks forward to continuing work to ensure they uphold the standards the Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health set forth.”
