CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Nov. 23, 2022) – Charlotte County Community Services has achieved reaccreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Parks and Recreation Agencies. Charlotte County Community Services Department is one of only 197 accredited agencies in the United States. Charlotte County achieved their original CAPRA accreditation in the fall of 2017.
“Immediately after receiving our accreditation, not only did we strive daily to live by the standards of excellence that CAPRA requires of an accredited agency, but we also began the process to ensure we were preparing to reapply in five years,” said Community Services Director Tommy Scott.
Accreditation assures policy makers, department staff, the general public and taxpayers an accredited park and recreation agency has been independently evaluated against established benchmarks as delivering a high level of quality facilities, programs and services.
“We were successful in achieving our reaccreditation,” said Community Services Director Tommy Scott. “We are honored to continue to serve our community.”
