Project Description
This project provides for the construction of a stormwater control structure under Peachland Blvd at the Elkcam Waterway. As a result of the Stormwater Master Plan that was completed in 1998, it was determined that many of the existing stormwater control structures were either undersized or had deteriorated since the 1960’s when they were originally built. The new structure will replace (2) 48" RCP's and weir with (1) 10’x10’ box culvert and a weir.Project Location
Peachland Boulevard between Strasburg Drive and Alton TerraceLatest Updates
Construction started Monday October 12, 2020. Peachland Boulevard will remain open to vehicular traffic, but please be aware of possible lane closures and delays thru the construction zone.
Traffic has been moved to the temporary bypass road for Phase 1 of the project.
Six sections of the box culvert have been installed on the south portion of the project. Both wingwalls on the southside have been poured. The south headwall is scheduled to be poured next week.
There may be temporary lane closures as necessary for safety. If possible, please use an alternate route during the construction.
In the course of construction, it can be necessary to drop the water level at times. The canal water levels may fluctuate during construction, but once construction is complete, the canal levels should return to normal and remain fairly constant.
