New FEMA Elevation Certificate Form & Instructions
Effective Date: 3/3/2016
Category: INSPECTIONS
Notice Content

The purpose of this notice is to inform the building industry, and other interested persons, that FEMA has updated its Elevation Certificate form. FEMA states that this new form is in effect and must be used to prepare the certificates.

Please note that the new form comes in two (2) versions:

· Legal Size (8.5”x14”) fillable PDF (must use Internet Explorer as your browser to open the file).
· Letter Size (8.5”x11”) non-fillable PDF (all browsers should open the file).

Although FEMA has yet to make the form available for downloading from the FEMA website, they have provided it to the Community Development Department. The form has been uploaded to the Department’s website and it can be found by selecting this link: www.charlottecountyfl.gov/services/buildingconstruction/Pages/default.aspx and then scroll down the middle column of the page and select the “Elevation Certificates” button. Both versions of the form will then be found in the right column of the “Elevation Certificates” page under “Related Links.”

Please call 941.743.1201 or email BuildingSvcs@CharlotteCountyFL.gov if you have any questions.
