REMINDER - Impact Fee Increase Effective Wednesday, June 26, 2019

At the March 26, 2019 meeting of the Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners, the Board acted to update the impact fee schedule. The rate increase is based upon studies completed to assess the cost upon county infrastructure by new development.

Recognizing the importance of balancing the need to adequately fund infrastructure with the need to keep Charlotte County competitive in terms of fees paid by potential residents, developers and investors, the Board voted to increase the rate by 5 percent, to 48.67 percent of those recommended by the technical studies.

The new rate becomes effective on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 and will apply to permit applications made on or after that date. A News Release was previously sent on March 27, 2019 about the increase. The updated fee schedule and more information is available online at CharlotteCountyFL.gov. From the “Departments” tab (left column), click “Community Development” and then click Impact Fees.

For more information about impact fees, please contact Shaun Cullinan, Zoning Official, at 941.743.1922 or Shaun.Cullinan@CharlotteCountyFL.gov.
