Volunteer Reception Center

Emergency Management > Volunteer Reception Center

After a major disaster occurs, the large number of spontaneous, unaffiliated volunteers who converge to assist with recovery can be overwhelming to an already stressed community.
The Charlotte County Volunteer Reception Center (VRC) provides a place where large numbers of volunteers can be efficiently processed and referred to organizations needing their services.  The process provides an easily managed way to document volunteers being registered and to fill requested need for help.
As a VRC volunteer you will be cross trained to set up and operate the center when County Emergency Management  deems it necessary.
As a volunteer there are several straightforward, logical and easy positions that you will be trained to do:
Safety Training
Phone Bank
Data Coordination
Volunteer ID’s
Data Entry
