Emergency Management
Mission: To prepare for, respond to, recover from, and mitigate against the loss of life, injuries, and damage caused by both natural and technological hazards that would adversely affect the residents and visitors to Charlotte County.
Emergency Management Accredidation Program 
The Charlotte County Office of Emergency Management is accredited by the Emergency Management Accreditation Program. EMAP is an independent non-profit organization that fosters excellence and accountability in emergency management and homeland security programs.

Level 1
Full Scale Activation of the Emergency Operations Center
In a full scale activation all primary and support county departments and agencies are notified. The EOC will be staffed by Emergency Management personnel and all departments and agencies.

Level 2
Partial Activation of the Emergency Operations Center
This is a limited activation depending on the size and type of emergency. The EOC will be staffed by Emergency Management personnel and the departments and agencies required to effectively respond to the event.

Level 3
Level 3 is the state of operational readiness to activate the Emergency Operations Center as required. This is the level that the EOC and Emergency Management Personnel maintain on a daily basis. ​
