Charlotte County Fire and Emergency Medical Services is a full service career department. The department provides fire suppression/rescue operations, pre-hospital emergency medical care and transport, Special Operations, (Hazardous Materials - Technical Rescue), Marine Operations and Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF). Charlotte County Fire & EMS services an area of 693 square miles with a population of approx. 162,449.
Operating out of 16 Fire & EMS stations throughout our County, our emergency personnel are highly trained Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) or Paramedics. Emergency crews are divided into three 24 hour shifts, which work from 8:00 am to 8:00 am followed by 48 hours off duty.
Charlotte County Fire & EMS is a part of Charlotte County Public Safety. Other public safety departments include Emergency Management, Animal Control and Radio Management.
