The CCHC Society is a local non-profit organization now known fondly as the “Society,” and is our fundraising arm which provides thousands of dollars annually toward our CCHC Society program budget. Over 300 member households enjoy reduced fees for many educational programs, invitations to special events, and free admission at 300 other museums worldwide.
The CCHC Society's purpose is (1) to further the historical and educational programs and purposes of the Historical Center; (2) to raise and receive funds for the benefit of the Historical Center and its programs; (3) to organize volunteers to meet the goals of CCHC Society; and (4) to promote and encourage public interest in and support for the Historical Center and its programs.
Membership in CCHC Society entitles individuals and families to a variety of valuable benefits, including:
- Free admission on every visit to 300+ science centers, museums and botanical gardens worldwide (21 in Florida) through the ASTC Travel Passport Program.
Individual memberships start at just $25/year. For more information, or to purchase a membership, contact the CCHC Society at 941.613.3228.
*Membership Applications take 7-10 business days for processing via Society volunteers.
CCHC Society Volunteer Corps - Hundreds of CCHC Society volunteers donate thousands of hours to assist the small professional staff with all aspects of planning and presenting historical programs, preparing exhibits and staffing special projects and fundraising events each year. Some folks donate their sewing and carpentry skills, for example, and others help with annual events and fundraisers.
With a small paid staff, the Historical Center could not operate without the support and assistance of dedicated volunteers. A variety of opportunities are available to fit all interests and schedules. Volunteers greet visitors, assist with special events and programs, help with office tasks, and much more. If you'd like to learn more, please contact the Historical Center at 941.629.PAST (7278).
