Park Rules

​Glass containers are prohibited.​Ord. No. 86-09, § 3, 3-25-86

The consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in any county parks and recreation facility located within a community redevelopment area and between sunset and sunrise in all other parks and recreation facilities, except where alcoholic consumption is expressly authorized by the terms of a county lease, outdoor festival license, or other similar county event or temporary use permit.

Overnight camping and overnight parking are prohibited except as specifically approved by the Charlotte County Community Services Director or his designee for projects or events

County recreational facilities shall be closed to public use and access, unless otherwise posted, from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. and except as provided:
(1) Lighted athletic facilities, such as playing fields, baseball, basketball or football fields, horse arenas, and similar facilities, during any period when the lights are on;
(2) Lighted tennis courts during any period when the lights are on;
(3) County facilities;
(4) Fishing piers and boat ramps;
(5) The designated connecting roadways or walkways giving access to the foregoing facilities described above;
(6) Park areas not included in the sign-posted areas.

Dogs are permitted in or on any public park specifically designated and posted for such use. It shall be unlawful for any person owning or having charge, care, custody or control of an animal in such areas to fail to immediately remove fecal matter that is deposited by said animal upon those areas and dispose of same in a lawful manner.

Public beaches and boat ramp parks are designated as regulated parking zones and subject to parking fees.
