Project Description
The Rio Villa Bridge over the Venice Canal, originally constructed in 1973, is scheduled for repairs to extend its lifespan and ensure continued safe use. This project includes procuring an engineering firm to design the necessary repairs, followed by contracting with a construction firm to carry out the rehabilitation work.

The Rio Villa Bridge is situated on Rio Villa Drive between Wisteria Place and Magnolia Way and serves as the only bridge on this roadway.Latest Updates
Project Update - August 2026
The design consultant is currently performing the bridge deck testing and load rating calculations -
- Tierra's GPR deck scan and coring operation
- They completed 6 concrete cores (with no rebar) for concrete strength testing and 2 cores (with rebar) for steel grade testing
- They are analyzing the GPR scan data and developing their deck condition report
- They are starting their in-house compression breaks and shipping the extracted steel to an outside lab for testing
