The Charlotte County Human Services Department empowers individuals and families to achieve stability by connecting them with vital programs and services. Through partnerships and a whole person-centered approach, we serve residents across all stages of life with compassion and integrity.

Aging & Adult Services: Helps seniors stay independent with care, meals, and support.
Family Stability Services: Offers aid and case management to keep families housed and stable.
Intake Services: Connects people to the right programs through one entry point.
Neighborhood Services: Supports housing and community projects to strengthen neighborhoods.
Veteran Services: Helps veterans access benefits and support they’ve earned.
Transit Services: Provides safe, reliable, free public transportation for individuals to access essential services, work and community services.

Charlotte County celebrates the development of The Villas at Scott Street, a new affordable housing project by Peace River Community Housing Partners dedicated to serving local veterans. A ribbon-cutting ceremony has been scheduled to celebrate the completion of the villas at 8:30 a.m., April 16.

Charlotte County is seeking public input to help shape its first-ever 2026–2030 Consolidated Plan and Program Year 2026 Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to share feedback on community needs, funding priorities, and eligible activities that support low- and moderate-income residents. A public input meeting will be held on April 22, 2026, and comments will be accepted through April 29, 2026.
