Commercial Roof

Replacement, repair or re-cover a roof on an existing commercial or multifamily structure

Note: Roof repairs covering less than 100 sq. ft. (1 square) do not require a permit, provided the work does not involve repairing trusses or rafters; strictly for roof covering; any modifications to the roof system or structure requires a Commercial Remodel permit.

Required Forms & Documents

  • Application for Roof Modification Permit: Please include the roof system number and option number
  • Notice of Commencement (1 copy signed and recorded): Any improvement for which the direct contract price is greater than $5,000. Must be submitted prior to scheduling the first inspection.

Product approvals can be researched at floridabuilding.org/pr/pr_app_srch.aspx (FL #s) or miamidade.gov/building/pc-search_app.asp (NOA #s)
