Subject: Community Development Opening
The Charlotte County Community Development Department is open to the public, with limited services. Our phones are currently down, but we are accepting walk in traffic for all our services.
Our online permitting portal is working for those who are registered with the county at Accela Citizen Access. We are not conducting building inspections at this time, as we are still conducting damage assessments. Notification will be sent when inspections resume in the coming days.
During this local emergency declaration, we are allowing an early start on reconstruction as long as an Early Start Notification Form is filled out and submitted to the Community Development Department. The form can be conpleted online or by coming to our office at 18400 Murdock Circle, Port Charlotte, FL 33948.
