Transit Public Input Workshop

About This Event

Charlotte County Transit has scheduled two workshops to solicit public input on its transit development plan.

The workshops are scheduled for 10 a.m.-12 p.m., May 29, 2024 at the Punta Gorda Library, 401 Shreve St., Punta Gorda and 2-4 p.m., May 29 at the Port Charlotte Library, 2280 Aaron St., Port Charlotte.

The plan being developed by Charlotte County Transit will provide strategic guidance for improving public transportation in Charlotte County over the next 10 years. The public involvement process seeks transit user and non-user public input on transit needs, priorities and implementation strategies to enhance public transportation in Charlotte County.

To improve the way Charlotte County Transit provides service through this process, the public outreach efforts will ensure that a broad range of groups are consulted including riders, major employers, social service providers, County staff, elected officials and the non-riding public. A variety of public involvement techniques will be included in the workshops to ensure the active participation of citizens in the community. The workshops will be designed to capture information from seasonal and permanent residents about community values, needs, and priorities. Additionally, they will feature displays and interactive information exchange, public surveys and enlistment for social media.
