Project Description
The Bayshore Grass Parking area was severely damaged by Hurricane Milton. A new assessment is required to confirm that the previous design will still meet current project needs. Submittals have been received, and an engineer of record has been confirmed. Contract negotiations are in progress, and once final designs are approved, the County will advertise the project for construction bids to begin reestablishing and hardening the parking area.

The Bayshore Grass Parking Area sustained significant damage during Hurricane Milton, prompting a scheduled kickoff meeting in early November with the design firm to review the project scope. The firm will complete a new assessment to confirm whether the previous design still meets current needs, and plans with angled parking options have already been submitted and are pending review. Angled configurations are being considered to improve traffic flow and enhance ingress and egress. Bid documents are currently being prepared to expedite advertising for a construction contractor. Once the final design is approved, the County will move forward with reestablishing and hardening the parking area.
