Project Description
The current restroom sustained substantial damage during hurricane Helene and Milton rendering it unsafe to repair and reuse. The existing structure shall be fully demolished, including all associated components, in accordance with applicable codes and regulations.The new facility shall utilize the Charlotte County standard small restroom template as a basis of design and adapted to applicable floodplain requirements. The completed project shall deliver a durable, code-compliant, low maintenance public restroom facility.
Project Location
The Bayshore Live Oak Playground Restroom Replacement project is located at the Bayshore Live Oak Park along Bayshore Road in Charlotte County, Florida.Project Impacts
Due to the unsafe condition of the existing structure, the restroom will remain closed for the duration of the project. No other impacts to the park or its operations are expected during this time.Latest Updates
The planning phase is continuing with further research into design concepts and site considerations. Establishing a solid foundation for the replacement bathrooms is critical to providing years of uninterrupted service while withstanding storm forces. Additional updates will be provided as the project progresses through the design and development phases.
