Project Description
Storm damage from multiple events severely impacted park and recreational facilities, with many structures buried in sand or inundated with water, requiring full assessment or replacement. pavilion 2 (small) and pavilion 3 (large) were buried in sand. Playground borders and surfacing, basketball courts, picnic tables, benches, volleyball nets and posts, horseshoe pits, and various trash/recycling receptacles were damaged or buried. Vehicles including a John Deere Gator and Ford F-250 suffered water inundation. Restrooms, maintenance sheds, and kiosks require full assessment. Fencing throughout the site, including maintenance yard and four-strand wire sections, was damaged. Parking lot lighting, concrete sidewalks, asphalt, and curbing also sustained damage. Recovery efforts will involve removal of sand, replacement or repair of buried or damaged structures, and resetting or replacing signage, flagpoles, and site amenities.
