Project Description
Storm surges and rising water have caused extensive erosion along the Railroad Line, exposing mangrove roots and washing out soil beneath the fishing pier. Damages include erosion requiring bulkhead or riprap stabilization (estimates not provided), full replacement of a 100 sq. ft. fishing pier with design, and repair of pier support poles, safety rails, and gates. Additional impacts include a 100 lf paved access trail, one access gate, eight displaced electrical poles, boardwalk handrail replacement, and multiple damaged signs?including a fishing line recycling station, entrance and trail signs, and associated hardware. Onsite signage requires resetting or replacement. Utility and site furnishings affected include monofilament bins, ten trash/recycling containers, pier pilings, 200 lf of pier handrails, and walkway lighting. Fill and riprap are recommended to stabilize the shoreline and prevent further damage.
