Project Description
Hurricanes Ian, Nicole, Idalia, Debby, Helene, and Milton caused extensive shoreline erosion on Manasota Key, displacing hundreds of thousands of cubic yards of sand. The dune system and seawalls were extensively damaged, leaving improved properties vulnerable to storm impacts. This project is the 2nd full scale nourishment of the shoreline of Manasota Key. The same design template will be used as the 2019/20 nourishment and will include the restoration of the dune system at the Chadwick Cove Beach Park.
