Manasota Key Sidewalk, Lighting & Landscaping

Project Description

The Manasota Key MSTU Advisory Board requested the development of a Community Plan including, but not limited to, sidewalks, bike paths, crosswalks, and lighting. Phase 1 of this project consisted of a conceptual master plan completed by Weiler Engineering in December 2013. Phase 2 is the design and construction of a 5' Sidewalk, Lighting & Landscaping on the West side of Gulf Blvd. from the south end of the beach parking lot to Little Court and the East side of Gulf Boulevard from Little Court to the end of the road at Stump Pass State Park. Phase 3 was the design of Sidewalk and Decorative lighting along the commerical area from the north side of the round about to the north entrance of the county beach parking lot. Phase 4 is the design of sidewalk and decorative lighting on N. beach Road from the N. entrance to the beach parking lot to the Sarasota County line.

Latest Updates

Phase 2, The contractor has finished work and final acceptance was issued on 10/4/21.Close out is being done. Phase 3 design is complete construction has been put on hold at this time by request of the MSTU advisory board. Phase 4, Johnson Engineering was selected for the design. At the March 15th MSTU meeting it was approved to move foward with the design, with a request to move construction to FY26 The route analysis has been completed and the survey is being done. A public meeting was held to help gather info from residents.
