Project Description
Design, permit, and construct a new gated truck entrance into the mini-transfer station by reconfiguring the end of Kenilworth Boulevard, adding an automatic security gate in the existing fence, and constructing a drive through an existing stormwater retention pond and tying into the back loop of the station onsite roadway. The entrance is being added for safety allowing large truck the option of not having to enter with general traffic. This option will create controlled access for truck and make the transfer stations traffic more efficient and safer by separating large semi-truck and passenger cars.

Southwest Engineering and Design (SED) was selected to permit and design this project.
SED has recently received the survey data they were waiting on and used that data to develop a couple design concepts to review. Both submitted to project management. The concepts include truck turn modeling and stormwater pond modifications. SED is working on optimizing the desired concept and are working towards 60% plans.
A pre-app. meeting has been scheduled with SWFWMD for early Nov. to discuss permitting for this project.
