Project Description
The existing pool at Port Charlotte Beach Park will be replaced with a community pool suitable for lap swimming, aerobic exercise, and therapy. A new pool facility will be constructed suitable for other special events. This is a 2020 Sales Tax Extension Tier 2 project with an anticipated allocation of $4.5 million. The pool was originally part of the Port Charlotte Beach Recreation Center, which was separated when the final list was prepared.

Design: Harvard Jolly PBK, Construction Manager @ Risk: Tandem Construction. Port Charlotte Beach Rec & Pool – Design of the rec center has moved into the construction document development phase, which is expected to take about three months. Design team has started initial discussions of the interior design for PCB. ACOE permit was received 4/14/2025, to demo PCB boardwalk. Met with stakeholders and interior decorator to go over colors, furniture, and lighting. The design team presented their design for PCB to the Board on 4/22/2025. The design team shared with the Building Officials overview and preliminary expectations review of Pool Building and Recreational Center with latest flood information and egress information.
