New 8^th Edition of the Florida Building Code

Effective on December 31, 2023

The new 8^th Edition (2023) of the Florida Building Code will become effective on December 31^st, 2023.  This would mean any permit application submitted at 12:00 AM on December 31^st or later will be subject to the new 8^th edition of the Florida Building Code.  Any permit application submitted prior to 11:59 PM on December 30^th will be subject to the 7^th edition of the Florida Building Code. The Florida Building Commission website provides free access to all volumes of the 8^th Edition (2023) Florida Building Code.
