Subject: Fire Permit Application Update
To comply with Florida House Bill 551 (HB 551), our fire permit application has been updated.
The updated application now includes:
- Type of fire permit application
- Number of sprinkler heads
- Identification of the project type as either a "Fire Sprinkler System Project" or a "Fire Alarm System Project" as defined by F.S. 553.7932
- Acknowledgements of the following requirements:
- Plans review will be conducted on-site prior to scheduled inspections
- Contractors must have fire alarm project plans and specifications available to the inspector on-site
- Contractors must provide documentation as requested by the local enforcement agency for recordkeeping
These changes apply to both online and paper permit applications. Please use the most current version to avoid processing delays.
