Date: Effective Immediately
Subject: New FEMA Elevation Certificate with Download Instructions
The purpose of this notice is to inform the building industry, and other interested persons, that FEMA has updated its Elevation Certificate. The new certificate became effective on July 7, 2023, and must be used to prepare certificates. FEMA states that there is no grace period for use of the old form. All Elevation Certificates dated July 7, 2023, and forward, must be on the new FEMA form.

If you are experiencing issues, there are two options provided below to view the form online:
Option A:
- After the file has downloaded in your browser
- Go to your “File Explorer” folder
- Open the “Downloads” folder
- Double click on the document to open
Option B:
- In your browser
- Go to your Settings
- In Search, type “PDF”
- On the right side, look for “PDF documents” (it may be highlighted)
- Make sure your setting allows for files to download to your device
