Effective Date: 3/15/2017
Category: Permitting
As part of our ongoing commitment to further streamline the permitting process, the Community Development Department has made improvements for certain residential permit types on occupied residential lots. This change becomes effective Mar 15, 2017 and will impact permit applications applied for on or after that date.
The residential permit types that are affected are as follows:
- Additions
- Carports
- Fences
- Garages
- Lanais
- Sheds
- Swimming Pools
A new form is being implemented called “No Tree Removal Affidavit for Improvements on an Occupied Residential Lot.” This form should be completed by the applicant and submitted with the permit application package if no trees are proposed for removal. If tree removal is proposed, a completed “Tree Permit Application” form should be submitted with the application package instead.
This change should result in improved timeframes for plan review and permit processing of these types of permits by having one of these forms submitted at the time of application submittal. Further, this change should result in fewer rejection comments to provide information about tree removal or replacement.
