Cold Weather Shelter Open Saturday & Sunday Nights

The National Weather Service forecasts cold temperatures on Saturday and Sunday nights, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. The Charlotte CARE Center (formerly the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition), 1476 Kenesaw St., Port Charlotte, will provide shelter to persons needing refuge from the cold. Guests will need to pre-register by calling 941-627-4313 and arrive by 8 p.m.
Freestanding Shade Replacements

Beginning Feb. 2, 2026, Charlotte County Parks and Natural Resources will begin preparatory work for upcoming freestanding shade replacements at Ann and Chuck Dever Regional Park, Carmalita Park, Centennial Park, Deep Creek Park, Franz Ross Park, Harold Avenue Regional Park, Rotonda Park, South County Regional Park and Tringali Park.
