Burn Ban Rescinded in Charlotte County

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (June 10, 2025) – The Charlotte County Commission has voted to rescind the countywide burn ban previously enacted on Feb. 25, 2025. The decision was made following recent rainfall and improved drought conditions, which have reduced the wildfire risk.

Charlotte County Fire & EMS Chief Jason Fair recommended lifting the ban after reviewing local and regional fire weather data.

Residents may now resume outdoor burning activities, including recreational fires and yard waste burning, in accordance with applicable county ordinances and state regulations. Controlled agricultural and silvicultural burns continue to be regulated by the Florida Forest Service.

Charlotte County Fire & EMS encourages all residents to practice fire safety and remain vigilant, especially during dry or windy conditions.
