CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Aug. 25, 2025) — Charlotte County Economic Development has selected Isaac James, executive director of the Military Heritage Museum, as its August 40 Under 40 honoree. James is recognized for helping to revitalize the Gulf Theater into a destination for live performance, connecting students with veterans to make history come alive, and strengthening the county’s quality of life and economy.
“Public service means giving back to the community and being part of something bigger than yourself… doing the work and trying to make a difference in people’s lives,” James said. He added that the most powerful moments happen when young people hear directly from veterans: “That kind of connection makes history come alive.”
Beyond the museum, James is the incoming president of the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce and represents the Chamber on the County’s City's1% Sales Tax Committee. He helped launch the Florida Philharmonic after the Punta Gorda Symphony closed, ensuring classical music continued locally, and serves as music director at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. These roles underscore how cultural institutions and nonprofits fuel tourism, support local businesses, and help attract talent and investment to Charlotte County.
The 40 Under 40 initiative celebrates young professionals whose work moves Charlotte County forward. Nominations for future honorees are welcome through Charlotte County Economic Development https://cleared4takeoff.com/fourty-under-fourty/.
