Improving Water Quality

Bridge

Water is critically woven through our lives as we work and play.

Protecting this invaluable resource ensures stability in our urban and natural environments. As part of the OCOW Plan, Charlotte County strives to make educational resources readily available to help residents develop a sense of water quality stewardship that is second nature.

Some of the greatest opportunities to conserve our drinking water resources and protect and improve water quality happens individually: at our homes and businesses. The “House to Harbor” concept introduces subtle changes that can have positive benefits on all our water resources.

Click on each of the tabs: Fertilizers, Pesticides & Irrigation; Supporting Nature; and Sustainable Housekeeping for valuable resources that can help you make sure your House is connected to the Harbor in the best possible way!

Interested to know more about water quality in our ponds, canals and the Harbor? Request a Speaker!

If your community group, non-profit, or HOA would like to schedule a speaker,  open and save this request to your PC. Once completed, click the submit button at the bottom of the form.
We will respond to your request within three business days and try to accomodate all requests, but those received less than two weeks from the requested date may not be accepted.
