A Public Works presence in North & Mid-County is critical for their operation. The old JB Yard on Kenilworth Blvd has been demoed for the new Charlotte Transit Facility. The County has purchased new property located at 18181 Sinatra Ave in Port Charlotte for the Public Works Yard.

The Cultural Center Replacement project was approved to move forward with masterplanning and programming by the Board of County Commissioners on March 12th 2024 following a series of public input activities and final presentation. The board granted $750,000 to proceed with advertising for a consultant. Additionally the direction was given to move forward with demolition of the existing facility scheduled for FY26. The full design and permitting phase is scheduled for funding in FY27 with construction funding in FY28.Burnt Store Water Reclamation Facility Expansion
