The project replaces the existing facility that has reached its end of life and suffered significant Hurricane damages. The new Recreation Center will be constructed in the same area as the previous facility, it will be approximatley 20K square feet to accomodate the growth and needs of the community for generations to come. The new facility will primarily focus on events and meeting space as well as improved outdoor spaces that compliment the views of the harbor. The new facility will be elevated and hardend to a code plus standard to be more resilient against future storms. The new facility will have a full serving kitchen, a dividable meeting room, a large event room, office spaces for staff and an auxiliary conference room available to the public. Outdoor amentities will include an elevated structure that supports walking and visibilty under the facility, a covered drop off area and exterior deck space facing the water for enhanced views and events.

The ELK 3.45, FOR 5.11 and a weir on the Pellam Waterway were found to be damaged. The cause of the damage is not known. Creation of park master plan and phase 1 development
The concept planis broken into two phases and Phase 1 includes the addition of a 9 hole disc golf course, a toddler/sensory playground to compliment the existing playground, exercie equipment, multi-use sport fields, a natural walking trail, modular skate park and sport courts. Phase 2 includes a recreation center, fishing pier, picnic shelters, a restroom and playground expansion. The recreation center will double as a storm shelter during hurricane season.
